Alfred Gutierrez

I’m Alfred. I live in Tokyo, where I design and build scalable, high-performance software.

A lifelong technologist, I first got into programming around age 9, tinkering with my Packard Bell running Windows 3.1 and writing early programs in BASIC and Visual Basic. As a self-taught coder, I’ve worked my way up from tech support to QA, automation, and ultimately to full stack development and architecture roles.

I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the biggest names in digital streaming & broadcasting, including Comcast NBCUniversal, Peacock, and Sky UK. My career has spanned various roles, from software engineer to architect, and I’ve led multi-regional teams in building complex, resilient, high-traffic systems.

Today, I’m a Principal Engineer with a strong focus on high-performance streaming multimedia applications and infrastructure.
